Gloria Kelbaugh Trainor, 88, of Westminster, passed away while surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Brightview Westminster Ridge. Gloria was born on December 22, 1928 in Baltimore, and was the daughter of the late Clarence Herman and Marion (Vollmer) Kelbaugh. She was the beloved wife for 57 years to the late Francis Xavier Trainor, who predeceased her in 2009. Gloria was a graduate of Patterson High School, class of 1946. She furthered her education at St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Business Education in 1950, and from Loyola University in Baltimore graduating with a Master Degree in Education. Gloria began her teaching career in Curtis Bay and retired in 1992 from Westminster High School, where she was employed for 20 years. Gloria's passion in life was gardening. She was very proud of her beautiful gardens, and was able to share her knowledge about gardening while teaching a non-credited course at Westminster High School during her retirement. She was an avid reader and loved animals. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland where she went with her husband many times. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church. Surviving her are son and daughter-in-law Patrick Mark and Donna Trainor of Hampstead; daughter and son-in-law Kathleen Ann and Michael Papesh of Taneytown; daughter-in-law Anita Trainor of Columbia; grandchildren Justine and husband Adam Gower, Ryan, Paul and Timothy Trainor; great-grandchildren Miles and Brady Gower; sister Patricia Reuschling of Newark, DE; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Ray Cullen of Conway, SC; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons Kevin Xavier Trainor and Barry Francis Trainor; and her brother-in-law Joe Reuschling. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 25th at 10:45 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St. Interment will be private.
