Gregory Grey Warfield, 64, of Hyannis, Massachusetts, lost the long battle of cancer on March 14, 2016, despite his strong will to live. Born and raised in New Windsor, MD to the late Nelson and Arlene Warfield. He attended Francis Scott Key and earned his G.E.D. Always an avid competitor, in basketball and golf were his two passions. Greg was extremely involved in numerous winning basketball teams within the town leagues. He loved to play all sorts of games and share his skills with all. For over 35 years Greg enjoyed working as a Case Manager, retiring from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. Beyond his devotion to his family and his passion for basketball and the NBA (Lakers). Greg was an avid golfer, world traveler, and eager Frisbee player. Gregory leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife, Roseanna and his beloved son, Grey. He is survived by four brothers; Nelson (Joyce) Warfield, Leroy (Pearl) Warfield, Larry Warfield, and Kevin (Janet) Warfield; and six sisters; Brenda (James) Dorsey, Sherry, Carmen, and Gail Warfield, Vicki Johnson, Sheree (Bobby) Bell; an extended Pena family and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends. A celebration will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 1pm at Westminster United Methodist Church, 165 E. Main St., Westminster. The family will receive friends at 12pm at the church until the start of services. Donations may be made in Gregory's name to Pena-Warfield Scholarship Fund, Cape Cod Community, 2240 Iynough Rd., W. Barnstable, MA 02668.
