Guy Jacob Sterner, 87, of Westminster, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Gettysburg, Pa.

Born Aug. 25, 1926, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Mary Elizabeth Wantz and Paul Stewart Sterner. He was the husband of the late Ruth O. Sterner, his wife of 60 years.

He worked at B.F. Shriver in the maintenance department, at H.N. Bang in Hanover, Pa., as an electrician and plumber and was a lifelong farmer.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Mary R. Wynegar and husband John, of Gettysburg; sons and daughters-in-law Edward Guy Sterner, of Silver Run, Walter Eugene Sterner and wife Melissa, of Hanover, Pa., and Russell William Sterner and wife Mary "Betsy," of York, Pa.; brothers Luther E., Earl T. and Eugene R. Sterner, all of Westminster; a sister, Marie M. Luckabaugh, of Hanover, Pa.; grandchildren April Sterner, Pam Dodge, Ashley Sterner, Marisa Sterner and Nicholas Sterner; and a great-grandson, Michael Henry Dodge III.

He was predeceased by a sister, Gladys V. Muller; and a brother, Lawrence J. Sterner.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Stiles officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park.
