H. Pauline Fritz, 92, of York, Pa., formerly of Westminster, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at the Country Meadows Retirement Community.
Born Jan. 12, 1920, in Union Mills, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Eva Virginia Flickinger Crowl. She was the wife of Francis P. Fritz, her husband of 68 years, whom she married Jan. 11, 1940, and who died July 6, 2008.
She worked as a seamstress for the Westminster Knit Company and later worked as a receptionist for 11 years at the Carroll County Office Building, retiring in 1980.
She was a lifelong member of Westminster United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Friendly Class. She enjoyed working on needlework projects for the church and she volunteered for the church's soup kitchen. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels in New Windsor.
Surviving are sons Ronald E. Fritz and wife Sue, of Portsmouth, Va., and Thomas W. Fritz and wife Beverly, of Stuart, Fla.; siblings Betty L. Lippy and Preston C. Crowl, both of Westminster; grandchildren Thomas W. Fritz Jr., Randolph P. Fritz and Joan E. Gursky; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brothers Guy W. and Norman L. Crowl; and a grandson, David Joel Fritz.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service, noon Thursday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Dr. Laura Easto officiating. Interment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery in Uniontown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Board of Child Care of the United Methodist Church, 3300 Gaither Road, Baltimore, MD 21244.
