Harold Augustus Fritz, 87, of New Oxford, Pa., formerly of New Windsor, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at the Brethren Community Health Care Facility in New Oxford.

Born Jan. 28, 1926, in New Windsor, he was the son of the late Hollie and Carrie Mae Flickenger Fritz. He was the husband of Ann Mae Wertz Fritz whom he married March 4, 1950.

He was a construction foreman for Potts and Callahan, retiring in 1988 after almost 30 years of service. He was a 1944 graduate of New Windsor High School. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific theater. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in New Windsor.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Dennis A. Fritz, of Glenville, Pa., Susan E. Benjamin, of Towson, Carolyn M. Andrews and husband James, of Matthews, N.C., Barbara E. Myers, of Woodsboro, and D. Kevin Fritz, of New Windsor; a brother, Raymond Fritz, of New Windsor; grandchildren Nathan and Leah Benjamin, Lisa Kriener, Chris, Adam, Tina and Alice Myers, Alison and Alan Fritz; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by brothers Kenneth and James Fritz; and by a son-in-law, Terry Myers.

Service and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Good Samarian Fund at Cross Keys Village, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350; or St. Paul United Methodist Church, 200 Main St., New Windsor, MD 21776.
