Harold Lloyd Kipe Sr., 81, of Finksburg, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at Transitions Healthcare in Sykesville.

Born Sept. 5, 1930, in Libertytown, he was the son of the late Hiriam W. Kipe Sr., and Annie E. Davis Kipe. He was the husband of Erma B. Kipe, his wife of 39 years.

Before retiring he worked as a supervisor for Black and Decker. He owned and operated H.K. Kipe Building.

He was a veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a life member of the VFW Molleville Post No. 467, and was an avid bowler.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Harold L. Kipe Jr. and wife Lil Bunda, of Snydersburg, and David S. Kipe and wife Amy, of Manchester; a stepson, Dana Seipp; a granddaughter, Olivia Kipe; a goddaughter, Tammy Rill Green, of Gettysburg, Pa.; god-grandchildren Madisyn and Chase Green, of Gettysburg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Stansbury; brothers Hiriam W. Kipe Jr. and Martin Kipe; and a sister-in-law Emily F. Kipe.

The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Emory United Methodist Church, 1600 Emory Road, Upperco, with the Rev. Andrew Greenwood officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
