Harry Newell Brown, 86, of Westminster died on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Westminster. Born July 31, 1928 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Harry C. Brown and Irene G. Newell Brown Haines. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice Ruth Brown. He retired from Baltimore Gas & Electric Company after 35 years of service in their customer relations department in 1990. He worked in Westminster, Columbia and the Baltimore offices. He was an interviewer and a complaint investigator as well as being attached to the Belair office. He served in the Navy and was a life member of the Sampson WWII Navy Veterans organization. He was a member of the American Legion Carroll Post #31. He was also a member of the Hardhats BG&E retiree's breakfast club and the Westminster United Methodist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey N. and Denise Kim Brown of Taneytown, daughter and son-in-law Jill M. and Stephen C. Cornwell of Westminster. Also survived by three grandchildren, Amanda K. Brown, Brandon and Jacob Cornwell. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 15 from 6:30 p.m. until time of memorial services at 7:30 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
