Harry Ellsworth Raver Jr., 80, of Abbottstown, Pa., died Monday, June 11, 2012, at York Hospital.
Born Sept. 27, 1931, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Harry E. Sr. and the late Frances Harvey Raver. He was the husband of Barbara L. Brown Raver.
He was a 1946 graduate of Franklin High School and had served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He was a plumbing and heating technician for more than 50 years.
He enjoyed using his handyman skills to help his grandchildren. He also enjoyed cars.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Cindy and husband Eddie Lockard, of Hanover, Pa., and Chris and husband Bill Olson, of Union Bridge; sisters Doris Bell, of Michigan, and Betty Hale, of Reisterstown; a brother, Calvin Raver, of Reisterstown; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Raver; brothers Harvey and Lester Raver; and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clarence L. Roark officiating. Interment will be in Grace Falls Road United Methodist Church Cemetery.
