Harry Stone Culbertson Sr., 98, of Westminster, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster.

Born Oct. 15, 1914, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Harry V. and Jessie Brooks Stickley Culbertson. He was the husband of Miriam Louise Culbertson, who died in 2002.

He had operated a newspaper delivery route for the Baltimore Sun for many years. He also had been a substitute teacher for 22 years. He was a member of Palestine Lodge No. 189 A.F.& A.M. and Boumi Temple. He had lived at Carroll Lutheran Village for many years.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Harry S. Jr. and Faith Culbertson, of Randallstown; eight grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Grace M. Shellkopf; and siblings Louis and Kenneth Culbertson, Jessie Puckett, Virginia Bailey and Helen Carey.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Schwartz as celebrant. Interment will be in Deer Park Cemetery in Smallwood.
