Harry T. "Tom" Arthur Jr., 56, of New Windsor, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Carroll Hospital Center, after recently being diagnosed with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a rare form of leukemia.

Born Jan. 7, 1958, in Baltimore, he was the son of Harry T. Arthur Sr. and Mary Brightwell Arthur, of Eldersburg. He was the husband of Stacey Renee Taylor Arthur.

He was a 1976 graduate of South Carroll High School and was an electrician with East Coast Electric in Reisterstown.

He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed target shooting at the Littlestown Fish and Game Club, where he also held membership.

He had always enjoyed music and was an accomplished bass guitarist, performing with the band Milenine, as well as on the worship team at Hilltop Assembly of God in Westminster and the Harvest Chapel Church of Abbottstown, Pa.

His passion was ministering the word of God.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are a brother, Gregory Arthur, of Mount Airy; a son, Ian Arthur, of College Park; a daughter, Alexa Arthur, of Baltimore; a stepdaughter, Gabrielle Mignon; a stepson, Noah Mignon; mother-in-law and father-in-law Beverly and Dennis Taylor; and numerous friends.

He was predeceased by a sister, Jane Arthur.

Per his wishes, there will be no viewing and he will be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Hilltop Assembly of God Church, 30 N. Cranberry Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Gary "Pete" Puckett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Maryland Chapter, 100 Painters Mill Road, Suite 800, Owings Mills, MD 21117, for HLH research.
