Hazel Green Rose, 105, of Westminster died peacefully at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born Dec. 7, 1909 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Laura Green. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Rose who died in 1991. They were married for 56 years. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and knitting.. She knit many things for her grandchildren. When she moved to Carroll Lutheran Village in 1991, she became involved with Project Linus and knit many blankets for them. Hazel is survived by her 2 sons and daughter-in-laws, Ron and Lynne Rose(NC) and Doug and Cindy Rose (SC) and daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ron Earp (Sykesville); 7 grandchildren Ron Rose, Steve Rose, Diane Dreschler, Dawn Geigan, Sandy Vance, Brian Earp and Carrie Youssi and 17 great grandchildren ranging in age from 25 years to 4 1/2 months. She is predeceased by her 3 sisters. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 11 AM at the Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village at 300 St. Luke Cir. Westminster with Chaplain Jimmie Schwartz officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Av., Westminster, MD 21157 or Carroll Lutheran Village Resident Assistance Fund, 300 St. Luke Cir., Westminster, MD 21158.
