Hedwig Martha Gebhardt, 76, of Winfield, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born Aug. 15, 1935, in Augsburg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Margarete Heil Gruber. She was the wife of Arnold Karl Gebhardt.
She had been a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, knitting and crochet, cooking, baking, travel and especially spending time with her family. She attended the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Sykesville.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son and daughter-in-law Erich and Jenny Gebhardt, of Winfield; daughters and sons-in-law Margaret Taylor, of Winfield, Katie and Gary Heiges, of Sykesville, and Heidi and Dave Oswald, of Winfield; siblings Rudi Gruber, Otto Gruber and Renati Mittelstaedt, all of Germany; grandchildren Tina Meyers, Cory and Marissa Heiges, Shelby and Brooke Gebhardt, and Dillon Oswald; great-grandchildren Jacob and Harper Meyers; and seven nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 630 Streaker Road, Sykesville. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 630 Streaker Road, Sykesville, MD 21784.
