Helen C. Marker Neuhauser, 88, of DeBary, Fla., formerly of the Glyndon area and Westminster, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City, Fla.

Born March 6, 1925, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late C. Walter Marker and the late Alice Starner Marker. She was the wife of Harrison "Bud" Neuhauser, who died in 2006.

She is a graduate of Westminster High School. She began a 40 year career as a telephone operator with C&P Telephone Company, which became Bell Atlantic, and then became Verizon Services. She retired in 1982.

Surviving are daughter Sally Marker-Showalter and husband David Showalter, of DeBary Fla.; sisters Charlotte Gehr, of Westminster, and Louise Strickhouser, of Harney; stepson Thomas Neuhauser and wife Bernadette, of Frenchtown, N.J.; five step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by an infant brother, Calvin Marker; a brother, Kenneth Marker, who died during World War II; and a sister, Isabelle Marker Sprinkel.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Maryland.

Cremation services are by Baldauff Funeral Home and Crematory in Orange City.
