Helen (Georg) Corbett, 86, of Westminster, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born March 13, 1928 in Accident, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Cora A. Bach and Harold G. Georg. She was the wife of the late John Winand Corbett. Before retiring, she worked as a high school English teacher from 1949-1979 for Carroll County Public Schools. She was a graduate of Frostburg State University. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and an avid reader. She is survived by a sister-in-law Mary P. Schuster, of Point of Rocks, MD, a niece Susan Sterling, of Texas and a nephew Timothy Schuster, of Pennsylvania, friends George and Ruth Ann Brown of Westminster and Deb Clarke of Woodbine. Also survived by numerous cousins. She was predeceased by a nephew John W. Schuster. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Martha Clementson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
