Helen Louise Kyle Carlisle, 88, of New Windsor, died Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born June 27, 1923, in Johnstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Roy B. and Marie Erb Griffith. She was the wife of W. Ray Kyle, who died in 1965; and of James C. Carlisle, who died Feb. 6.

She was a 1941 graduate of Dale High School in Johnstown. She was formerly employed at the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, in numerous departments, retiring in 1988.

She was a member of Westminster Church of the Brethren and the former New Windsor Lioness Club. She enjoyed gardening, reading, dancing, traveling and spending time with her family.

Surviving are daughters Linda Ibex and husband Jeff, of Westminster, and Cathy Kyle Fenton and husband Paul, of Ottawa, Ontario; son Tim Kyle and wife Vickie, of Westminster; a stepdaughter, Alice Moore, of Winter Park, Fla.; stepson J. Keith Carlisle and wife Nancy, of Union Bridge; grandchildren Jeffrey Ibex, of Laurel, Jill Ibex, Kimberly Bowen, and Ryan Kyle and wife Brittany, all of Westminster, Pere Kyle, of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Ginger Fenton, of Ottawa; a step-granddaughter, Ashley Carlisle, of Winchester, Va.; two great-grandsons; a sister, Phyllis Jacobs, of Durham, N.C.; and a friend, Nancy Reppe.

She was predeceased by a son, David Kyle, who died in 2009; a daughter-in-law, Margie Kyle; sisters Ethel Brown, Doris Smith and Kay Fye; and brothers Robert and James Griffith.

There will be no public visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Westminster Church of the Brethren, Bond Street and Park Place, Westminster, with the Rev. Glenn McCrickard, church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery in Westminster.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Westminster Church of the Brethren, 1 Park Place, Westminster, MD 21157.
