Helene Catherine "Cathy" McLoughlin Arnold, 68, of Westminster, MD died peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at home. Born March 31, 1948 in Doylestown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Mildred (Sully) McLoughlin. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Raymond "Ray" Arnold. Originally from New Jersey, she graduated from Towson State College (now Towson University) with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She retired after teaching 30 years in Baltimore City. She taught at Belmont and James McHenry Elementary Schools and at the Learning Through Arts Program. After retirement she served as a part time mentor for new Baltimore City teachers. She also worked part-time as the MRI receptionist at ACOSSM in Westminster. When her sons were young she established a concession stand for the Sandymount Youth Soccer Program. She was also an active volunteer with the Westminster High School Athletic Boosters. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, watching Ravens football, and traveling. In addition to her husband she is survived by sons Christopher Arnold and wife Emily of Kingwood, TX, Thomas Arnold of Westminster, and William Arnold and wife Kimberly of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren Kieran and Mairin Arnold of Kingwood, TX, and Charlotte Arnold of St. Augustine, FL; sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Thomas Shultz of Williamsburg, VA; brother and sister-in-law Donald and Donna McLoughlin of Peoria, IL; sisters-in-law Ingrid McLoughlin of Keswick, VA and Samone Arnold of Lanham, MD. She was predeceased by her brother T. Michael McLoughlin; brother-in-law Larry M. Arnold; and nephew John McLoughlin. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a wake service to be held at 7 pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:30 am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St. Westminster MD 21157. Interment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to Carroll Hospice, 291 Stoner Ave., Westminster MD 21157.
