Henry Charles "Hank" Mathias, 41, of Glen Rock, Pa., died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident.

Born May 3, 1972, in Baltimore, he was the son of Beverly Ann Jordan Mathias, of Pasadena, and the late Frank S. Mathias Jr. He was the husband of Brenda Markley Mathias, whom he married Dec. 2, 2000.

He was a registered nurse working at Gettysburg Hospital. He enjoyed the lifestyle of re-enacting with his pre-18th century rendezvous and buckskinning friends. He was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan and participated in fishing and shooting, especially blackpowder rifles. He was an avid follower of political discussions.

Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are children Brady J. Mathias, of Littlestown, Pa., and Tyler A. Mathias and Sarah E. Mathias, of Glen Rock, Pa.; brother Frank S. Mathias III and wife Lynn, of Chester; mother-in-law Gloria Clapper, of Westminster; father-in-law Steve Markley Sr., of Lancaster, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Art Monroe Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover, Pa.
