Henry Hobart Shrewsbury, 61, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at the Golden Living Center.

Born Aug. 29, 1952, in Beckley, W.Va., he was the son of the late Earl Edward Shrewsbury and Josephine Rogers Shrewsbury Lee. He was the husband of Joyce Shrewsbury.

He had served in the Navy. Before his illness he worked at McDaniel College.

He enjoyed yard sales, flea markets and collecting coins and guns.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Jennifer Havelin and husband Carl, of Hampstead, Kayla Shrewsbury and fiance Joseph Shields, and a son, Phillip Shrewsbury, all of Westminster, Nancy Short and husband Lee, of Charleston, W.Va., and Jeanette Curtis and husband Chris, of Beckley, W.Va.; a brother, Evert Pack, of Beaver, W.Va.; sisters, Polly Pack Meadows and Marietta Jones, both of Beckley, W.Va.; and nine grandchildren.

He was predeceased by brothers David Shrewsbury and Paul Michael Pack; and a sister, Lizzy Pack.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster; and from 11 a.m. until the time of service, noon Monday at Melton Mortuary, 1200 Harper Road, Beckley. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery.
