Henry L. "Sonny" Rebert, 81, of Hanover, PA, died Monday, November 14, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He had fought a two-year battle with cancer and, as a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, was ushered into the presence of his Savior. He was the husband of Madeline (Parvis) Rebert for twenty-six years. Born October 31, 1935 in Bachman's Valley, he was the son of the late Henry A., and Gertrude (Bechtel) Rebert. Henry worked at Black & Decker in Hampstead, MD and Fayetteville, NC for 25 years, and then worked at other companies as a machinist as well as various other jobs. He enjoyed playing his saxophone in church and the clarinet in the Alesia band for many years. Working on mechanical things was another passion - automobiles (a 1929 Chevy, a Studebaker silver hawk, an Edsel, an Opal, etc.), tractors, etc. Following in the footsteps of his father, he also enjoyed carpentry. Surviving in addition to his wife, Madeline, are his five children, Brian Rebert and wife, Sandi, of Farmington, ME; Linda Gangemella and husband, Michael, of New Castle, DE; Mike Parvis and wife, Suzzen, of Homewood, IL; Ken Parvis and wife, Barb, of Hanover; and Jim Parvis and wife, Jen, of Pickens, SC; his nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; his two brothers, Bill (Ruth) Rebert of Hanover; and Bob (Karen) Rebert of New Oxford; and his four sisters, Barb (Phil) Raber of Hanover, Thelma Martin (friend Ralph) of Hanover, Pat (Gary) Dickensheets of Hanover, and Diane Coppola of Hanover. Henry was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Sal Coppola and sister, Sue Harrison. Viewings and times to share with the family will be held from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Missionary Bible Baptist Church, 920 Beck Mill Road, Hanover, PA. The funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, November 18, 2016 at the church. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Missions Fund of the Missionary Bible Baptist Church, 920 Beck Mill Rd., Hanover, PA 17331 or the VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N.
