Herbert Hoover Anderson, age 87, of Rogersville, Tennessee passed away Sunday August 7, 2016, at Bristol Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born October 15, 1928 in Blackwater, Virginia. Herbert was predeceased by his parents Marshall and Bennie Testerman Anderson; son Dennis David Anderson; son-in-law Bob Shuler; brothers Charles and Howard Anderson; and sister Mary Jane Nichols. He was a veteran of the U.S. army during the Korean War. He was a licensed practical nurse and retired from Springfield Hospital Center, Sykesville, after 30 years of service. He was saved at the age of 12, was baptized January 3, 1941, and joined Livesay's Chapel Baptist Church where he served as deacon since 1957 and attended regularly as long as his health permitted. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He and his wife Maxine Livesay Anderson just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2016. He is also survived by his daughter Carolyn Anderson Shuler of Kingsport, TN; son Andy Heath Anderson and his wife Jessica of Talbott, TN; and grandchildren Jeremy Shuler, Savannah Anderson, and Ava Anderson; brothers A.J. "Jay" and Olen Anderson and sister Annette Kinsler. Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 9 from 6-8 p.m. at Christian-Sells Funeral Home, Rogersville, TN, with funeral following visitation. Burial will be Wednesday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Cemetery, Rogersville, TN. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
