Hilda Barnes Haugh, 87, of Hampstead, formerly of Winfield, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born Feb. 15, 1925, in Sykesville, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Buck and Esther Pickett Barnes.

She was a graduate of Sykesville High School. She worked at several jobs, including Carroll County Public Schools. Her last job was as a cashier at McDougal's Drug Store in Eldersburg.

Growing up, she attended Messiah Lutheran Church, and when she moved to Gaither, she attended Gaither United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Old Bonn-ette Club of Sykesville. She was an active member of Winfield Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Freedom District Lioness Club.

Surviving are son Eric Haugh, sister-in-law Nancy T. Barnes and several cousins.

She was predeceased by brother Sewell "Buck" Barnes.

The family will receive friends on from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday  with the Winfield Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Highland View Cemetery in Berrett.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
