Gaetana "Ida" Famoso (née Mangione) broke the mold when she was born July 24, 1928, because she was a fabulously feisty woman who was far ahead of her times. No one questioned her decision making authority, most notably her late husband of 68 years. Substance mattered to Ida more than superficial titles, and she loved everyone in her large family equally - regardless of how they came to join her brood. This Italian woman's first born grandson would like everyone to know that he was her favorite. It's important to note that this was not written by him, either, but by one of his siblings. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfonso, and eldest child, Al Jr, and is survived by her children Christine (Stephen Lopez) & Ann (Bill Garczynski), her grandkids Margaret (Marc Erpenbeck), Stephen (Laura Wiese), Christopher (Maria Arini), Nicholas, and David, and great grandkids Mason, Henry & Marshall.
