Irene Louise Mattison Ruppalt, 91, of Westminster, formerly of Hebbville, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at home.

Born March 27, 1921, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Samuel R. and Marie Helmker Mattison. She was the wife of Matthew H. Ruppalt Sr., who she married March 12, 1939.

She was a homemaker. She was a former member of Salem United Methodist Church in Hebbville and currently attended St. Luke's (Winter's) Lutheran Church. She was a former member of the Homemakers Club in Hebbville.

She enjoyed watching baseball, going to her children's sporting events, knitting and duckpin bowling. For a few years she was the manager of the Woodlawn Elementary School cafeteria.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters and sons-in-law Janet McMullen, and Beverly and Christopher Polites, all of Westminster, and Theresa and Kenneth Hylock, of Santee, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law Matthew Ruppalt Jr. and Bernice Ruppalt, of Mount Airy; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Marshall McMullen.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Shamer officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park in Eldersburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Luke's (Winter's) Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 447, New Windsor, MD 21776.
