Irene Edith Weeks, 91, formerly of Keymar, died Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Lorien at Taneytown. Born June 28, 1923 in Weyers Cave, VA, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Levi and Mae Anna Earley Garber. She was the wife of Berman Walton Weeks who died in 2004. Mrs. Weeks was a graduate of Weyers Cave High School and following graduation she began employment at the Brethren Service Center, New Windsor, until her marriage. She was a member of the Union Bridge Church of the Brethren and the M & M's. She was an honorary member of the Terra Rubra Lions Club. She was an avid reader, loved her family, and enjoyed her time spent at Lorien participating in their activities, attending picnics and Lions Club activities and conventions with her husband, along with several winters they spent in Florida. Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Mae Grable and husband Terry of Keymar; 2 sons, Wayne H. Weeks and wife Sharon of Taneytown and Wendell J. Weeks and wife Valerie of Randallstown; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Carroll Connor of Manassas, VA and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hess Zepp of Middleburg. She was predeceased by a son, Glenn Weeks in 1981, great grandson, Steven Thomas, 4 sisters and 1 brother. The family will receive friends at the Union Bridge Church of the Brethren, 124 S. Main St., Sunday, June 14, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Dr. James Benedict, church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery, near Linwood. Box 518, Union Bridge, MD 21791 or to the Terra Rubra Lions Club, c/o Larry Stambaugh, 7135 Keysville Rd., Keymar, MD 21757.
