Irma Eney Myers, 90, of Frederick, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Homewood at Crumland Farms, Frederick, after a long battle with dementia. She was predeceased in 2013 by her husband, Jesse D. Myers, Jr. They had been married for 60 years. Born on March 3, 1927 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd H. Eney, Sr., and Elsie Bremmer Eney of Baltimore and Frederick. A graduate of Western High School in Baltimore, and of Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) in Westminster, Mrs. Myers taught 7th grade at Westminster Junior Senior High School. In the 1970's she was an instructional aide at Gov. Thomas Johnson Junior High School in Frederick. Mrs. Myers was a devoted member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick. She taught Sunday School and was a member and past president of the United Methodist Women and of the Wesleyan Circle. She also served as a Stephen Minister at Calvary. She was a devoted grandmother, and enjoyed flower gardening, especially her roses. Mrs. Myers is survived by two children, Susan M. Harbold and her husband John C. Harbold of Westminster, and J. David Myers III and his wife Dawn Smith Myers of Shepherdstown, West Virginia; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Howard G. Myers and his wife Jean D. Myers, and 6 nieces and 1 nephew. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Lloyd H. Eney, Jr. and George R. Eney. There will be no public visitation and interment will be private. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Larsen and Rev. Francis VanDelden. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 131 W. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Arrangements are being handled by Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, Westminster.
