J. Dennis "J.D." Bowlin, 71, of Woodbine, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born July 1, 1942, in Kyles Ford, Tenn., he was the son of the late Julia Bowlin. He was the husband of Thelma Bowlin, his wife of 49 years.

He had been an electrical lineman for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with family and friends. He was saved at Livesay Church in Kyles Ford, Tenn.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Larry Bowlin and companion Tracey Cowman, of Woodbine, and Jerry Bowlin and wife Dawn, of Littlestown, Pa.; brothers Elmo Bowlin, of Morristown, Tenn., and Douglas Bowlin and wife Judy, of Sykesville; sister Shirley Lawson and husband Billy Gene, of Rogersville, Tenn.; grandchildren Jennifer Bowlin and Dalton Bowlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Leroy and Kenneth Bowlin.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery in Sykesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospital Center, 200 Memorial Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
