J. Larry Dayhoff, 76, of Taneytown, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at University of Maryland Medical Center, after an illness of six months.

Born March 27, 1936, in Linwood, he was the son of the late Truman Joseph and Thelma Irene Johnson Dayhoff.

He was a retired truck driver from both Mitchell Transport in Union Bridge, and Evapco in Taneytown. He was a member of Linwood Brethren Church. He enjoyed putting together model airplanes, handiwork and his cat.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Darleen and Don Upchurch, and Connie and Paul Baugher, all of Taneytown, and Sheila and John Kalkbrenner, of Hanover, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Nancy Cox and husband Norman, of Finksburg; brother W. Jerry Dayhoff and wife Polly, of New Windsor; a daughter-in-law, Dusti Dayhoff, of Taneytown; sisters-in-law Shirley Dayhoff, of Keymar, and Maxine Dayhoff, of Union Bridge; a brother-in-law, Earle Brewer, of Littlestown, Pa.; companion Phyllis Bosley, of Westminster; and former spouse Ann Smith, of Taneytown.

He was predeceased by a son, Joseph L. Dayhoff II; a sister, Sharon Brewer; and brothers Roland Dayhoff, and his twin T. Gary Dayhoff.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m Saturday, April 13, at Linwood Brethren Church, 575 McKinstrys Mill Road, Union Bridge, with the Rev. Dan Ceary, church pastor, officiating.
