Jack Edward Hinton, 81, of Westminster, formerly of Baltimore, died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at his residence. Known by all as: Jack or "Happy Jack" and was never without his undying sense of humor. Jack retired from Bell Atlantic in 1989 as Staff Manager. He was three time Passed President (Friendship Council, Western Council and Chapter 44) of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Pass President of the Royals Pleasure Club - Baltimore (Lauraville), Tidewater Huntsmen, Tin Goose Hunt Club and The Forest and Stream Club of Westminster, and Past Patron of the Eastern Star. He enjoyed his memberships in the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shrine, and Elks. He was a Benefactor Life member of the National Rifle Association of America and never tired of supporting their fight to protect our Second Amendment rights. He was totally committed to God, Family and Country. Jack served in the U.S. Navy and was an avid hunter, camper, fisherman and model railroader and spend most of his "retirement" years as a Range Officer at the Carroll County firearms facility. He authored and had published, books on Telephone Pioneer's history and hunting throughout the United States and Canada. Jack was predeceased by his parents: Marie E. Jenkins Hinton and Chester M. Hinton of Hamilton in Baltimore and his first wife: Carolyn M. Rach Hinton and is survived by his present wife Bonnie L. Hinton of 38 years, sons Paul D. Hinton of Florida, Mark C. Hinton and daughter-in-law Danielle of Pennsylvania, daughter Jacqueline Marie Cohn and son-in-law Russell Cohn of South Carolina, grandsons Hunter Hinton, Jacob, Benjamin, Elliott Cohn, Brody Hinton and granddaughter Kinsley Hinton. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 94 will have services at 7:30 p.m. followed by Door to Virtue Masonic Lodge No. 46 AF & AM at 8 p.m. followed by prayer services at 8:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
