Jack R. "J.R." Morris, 78, of Hanover, Pa., died Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford, Pa.

Born June 15, 1934, in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Herman Anderson and Martha Elizabeth Moore Morris. He was the husband of Myrtle J. Ingle Morris, his wife of 30 years.

He was a veteran of the Army and was patriotic, always flying the American flag on patriotic holidays.

He was employed with United Airlines at BWI Airport for 20 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Arc of Carroll County for 15 years. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed traveling around the countryside taking photographs of barns and covered bridges and kept an extensive collection. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. They always managed to get together every "second Saturday" for the past 20 years.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter Barbara E. Demopulos and husband Dan, of Hampstead; sons John S. Morris and wife Kim, of Hanover, Pa., Jeffery R. Morris and wife Valerie, of Fawn Grove, Pa.; stepson Steven B. Spencer and wife Joanne, of Westminster; stepdaughter Vicki L. Ensor and husband Steve, of Westminster; grandchildren Matthew and Kristin Duling, Katie and Josh Morris, Kirstin Lake, Carly Ensor and Nicky Regel; two great-grandchildren; a brother, William Morris, of Kent Island; and sisters Brenda Hastings, and Linda Jenne and husband Art, all of Westminster.

Viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover, with the Rev. Darryl C. Zoller officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
