Jacob A. "Jake" Offutt, 15, of Westminster, died July 13, 2015 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born June 1, 2000 in Columbia, he was the beloved son of Joe and Leah Offutt. Jake would have entered the 10th Grade at Winters Mill High School this fall. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church. Surviving in addition to his parents are his loving grandparents Bill and Joan Offutt of Ellicott City; aunts and uncles Lori and Randy Underwood, Bill and Kim Offutt, John and Dale Offutt and Joanne and Michael Gales; cousins Leah and Nicholas Underwood, Natalie and Renee Gales, Kate, Scott and Luke Offutt; and many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Deborah Hall. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 pm and Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster. Officiating will be Father James Boric. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Community Foundation of Carroll County - Jake Offutt, 255 Clifton, Blvd., Suite 313, Westminster, MD 21157.
