James Bush Wolfe, age 81, of Union Bridge, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Copper Ridge, Sykesville. Born November 7, 1935 in Johnsville, he was the son of the late Helen Vida Weddle and a stepson of the late Jesse Weddle. He was the husband of Shirley J. Wolfe, his wife of 62 years. Mr. Wolfe was a retiree of Lehigh Portland Cement Company. He was a life member of the Union Bridge Fire Company, VFW Post 8806 of Union Bridge, and the Mayberry Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of the Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firemen's Association. He was devoted to the Fire Company and enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening, dancing, playing cards and was an avid bowler. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four daughters, Paula May and husband, Ronald of Cavetown, Sharon Green and husband Earl of Taneytown, Brenda Haines of Statesville, NC, and Donna Roberts of Union Bridge; 9 grandchildren, Adam and Amanda Burdette, Katie Burdette, Brandon Milberry, Michele "Niki" Kerns, Robbie and Katie Green, Ricky and Brandi Green, Lara Huzzard and David, Jamie and Jason Riley, Matthew and Pam Haines; 12 great-grandchildren, Hailee, Jacob, Libby, Josh, Braiden, Ayden, Ryder, Wylon, Nicholas, Megan, Carlee, and Rylee; sister, Marie Flohr of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Spencer Wolfe and other family members. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 18 in Haugh's Cemetery, Ladiesburg, with Deacon Charles Barnhart, pastor of Keysville Lutheran Church, officiating. There will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Union Bridge Fire Company, P.O. Box 1050, Union Bridge, MD 21791 or VFW Post 8806, P.O. Box 55, Union Bridge, MD 21791.
