On May 2, 2015, James Lee Bradley of Sykesville, beloved husband of Linda Somerlock Bradley, devoted father of Rachael Bradley Montgomery of Paeonian Springs, VA, and Rebecca Bradley Walter of Mt. Airy, MD, loving grandfather of Eleanor Waldschuetz and Garrett Walter, and dear brother of Linda Bradley Miller. Jim retired from teaching high school English and Journalism in Baltimore County after 35 years.He was chairman of the Carroll County Historic Preservation Commission and a member of the Thurmont Conservation & Sportsmans Club.He was an avid fisherman,outdoorsman,and civil war enthusiast,as well as an enthusiastic grandfather. The family will receive friends at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:00 am at Calvary United Methodist Church, 3939 Gamber Rd., Finksburg, MD 21048. In lieu of flowers,please send contributions to the Carroll County Historical Society at http://www.hsccmd.org/ or Calvary United Methodist Church.
