James Robert "Jim" Clarke, Sr., 66, of Westminster, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the Dove House. Born July 1, 1949 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Edward Avery Clarke and Olive "Gerry" Geraldine Anthony. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, JoAnn E. Clarke. Before retiring he worked 34 years for the Baltimore Sun as the District Manager for Home Circulation. He also worked for the Washington Times, Baltimore Examiner and Carroll County Times. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Yancey and enjoyed camping and woodworking. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Laura Ann Harvey and Richard of Jessup, son and daughter-in-law Jim Clarke, Jr. and Laurel of Westlake, Ohio, a sister Barbara Ann Reed of Dundalk, a brother Edward A. Clarke and wife Donnie Lee of Stewartstown, PA, sister Geraldine L. Krotee and husband Henry of Aberdeen, 3 grandchildren Trenton Harvey, Olivia and Landon Clarke. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Art Monroe, Carroll Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Lake View Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157 or the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth St., Santa Monica, CA 90401.
