James Edward-Louis Bloom, 22, of Manchester, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at home.

Born Jan. 15, 1991, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of James Irvin Bloom and wife LouAnn Strevig, and Kelly Denise Colbert Braitsch and husband John.

He was a 2009 graduate of the North Carroll High School and Carroll County Career and Technical High School. He enjoyed working on cars and motocross.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Jerry Bloom; stepsisters Rachael Battaglia, Meghan Strevig and Amy Braitsch; stepbrothers Tyler Strevig, Jay Braitsch and Joey Braitsch; and grandparents Edward and Elinor Colbert, James A. Bloom and Joyce and Gerald Bankard.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A private cremation will follow at All Faiths Crematory and Chapel. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 389, Manchester, MD 21102, to help defray funeral costs.
