James Kyle "Jim" Carson, 65, of Westminster, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at home.

Born March 25, 1948, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Frederick Carson and Doris Schade Carson.

He was the commercial sales fleet manager at Heritage Chevrolet. He served in the Army during Vietnam and was in the special forces -- Green Beret. He was a Command Sgt. Major in the Maryland National Guard and a member of the Westminster Elks Lodge #2277, where he was the house committee chairman. He enjoyed seeing his friends at the Elks and Maggies.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Beth and Eric Nelson, of Crofton, and Connie and Jack LeProvost, of Cumberland; and grandchildren Brittany, Justus, David and Michael.

He was predeceased by a sister, Deborah McGee.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Westminster Elks Lodge #2277, 538 Gorsuch Road, Westminster. Inurnment of ashes with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.
