James Marshall Jones, age 69, of Sykesville, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at home. Born January 26, 1948, in Maryland he was the son of the late Theodore H. Jones and Mabel B. Wheeler Jones. He was the husband of Diane Branic Jones of Sykesville. Jim had retired as a supervisor in electric distribution from BG&E after 44 years of service. He had served in the US Army during Vietnam. He received two purple hearts and a bronze star. Jim had a passion for corvettes. He was a member of the Maryland Freestate Corvette Club. He enjoyed watching FOX news, the beach and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons and daughters-in-law, Stewart and Diane Jordan and Chris and Andrea Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole Jones and Jason M. Wagner; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Yolanda Jones and sister and brother-in-law Roxanne and Lee Ruch and grandchildren, Cole and Campbell Jordan, Gabriel, Tyler, Bradyn and Brycen Jones and Nathan and Reagan Wagner. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 17, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2pm. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 1:45pm. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Wounded Warriors Project.
