James Millard Hatten, 80, of Westminster, passed away on December 14, 2017 at Hanover Hospital in Hanover, Pennsylvania. He was the loving husband of Rose Marie (nee Jubb) Hatten with whom he celebrated his 49th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day this year. Jim was born on March 15, 1937 in Dermott, Arkansas to the late Millard Jewel and Cordelia (nee Leeper) Hatten. Jim graduated from the University of Missouri in 1960 and was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired in 1994 after 30 years as a statistician for the United States government. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Jeanne Marie and Larry John Dumonchelle and Cynthia Hatten and Robert Lewis Unglesbee, grandchildren Quinn Alexander Dumonchelle, Brady Austin Dumonchelle, Olivia Mary Unglesbee, and Ethan James Unglesbee, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Judith Ann Finley, of Sedalia, Missouri. He was a member of the Old Line Statesmen Barbershop Chorus of Carroll County. The family will welcome friends on Thursday, December 21,2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, Maryland.
