James Richard Damaska, age 62, of Sykesville, MD passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House, Westminster, MD. Born November 7, 1953, in Williamsport, PA he was the son of the late Leo M. Damaska and Deborah J. Bovee Damaska. James graduated from Loyalsock Township High School and Mansfield State College. He worked as an Industrial Hygienist for the federal government for many years. James had many pastimes, which included woodworking, Harley Davidson motorcycles, cars and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his dog, "Trinka". He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, James L. and Angie Damaska of Sykesville, MD; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly P. and Michael Ruhlman of Westminster; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah B. and Robert Anderson of Falmouth, MA, Susan and Mark Vanderlin of Montoursville, PA, Pamela and J. Michael Fisher of Mifflinburg, PA, and G. Ann Fegley of Montoursville, PA; brothers, David L. Damaska of Williamsport, PA and P. Daniel Damaska of Montoursville, PA; sister-in-law, Maureen Damaska of Gaithersburg, MD and grandchildren, Abigael, Ian and Alexander. He was predeceased by his brother, Garth E. Damaska. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6pm on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 East Third St., Williamsport, PA. A funeral liturgy will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 10am at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Road, Williamsport, PA. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, c/o:1028 Cypress Forest Drive, Sykesville, MD 21784.
