James Richard Gump, 53, of Union Bridge, died unexptectedly Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at home.

Born April 17, 1960, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Ethel Louise Wright Gump, of West Virginia and the late James Victor Gump. He was the husband of Cinda Gump, his wife of 20 years.

He was employed as a glazier/iron worker with Spear Windows and Glass of Baltimore. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are a daughter, Cheyenne Gump, of Littlestown, Pa.; step-children Adam Sullivan, of California, and Nathan, Jody and Randall Bair, all of Littlestown; step-grandchildren Cameron Bair and Charles Reed Barr; a sister, Sharon Ross, of West Virginia; a brother, Terry Gump, of Frederick; nephews, Corey, Mark and Terry Jr.; and friends Jeff Posten and Russ Boone.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until the time of service, 7 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, with the Rev. James Benedict, pastor of Union Bridge Church of the Brethren, officiating.
