James Robert "Bobby" Lewis, 54, of Westminster, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at home.

Born Dec. 20, 1958, in Harford County, he was the son of Gertrude "Gertie" B. Hill, of New Windsor, and the late Okey L. Lewis Sr.

He worked for more than 15 years in the maintenance department of McDaniel College and considered the college his home away from home.

He attended Calvary Christian Fellowship in Westminster. An avid motorcycle rider, he was a founding member and treasurer of the Maryland Chapter of the Iron Thunder Motorcycle Club.

He was known to be kindhearted and a gentle man.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are daughter Stefanie L. Cooper and husband Calvin, of Charles Town, W.Va.; granddaughters Sofie and Greenley Cooper; siblings John P. Lewis, of Hanover, Pa., Ruth Ann Day, of Hampstead, Cynthia L. Allen, of Frederick, Shawn E. Null, William D. Null, and Edward E. Null Jr., all of Westminster, and Chris Null, of Florida; a step-father, Ted Hill, of New Windsor; a former spouse, Karen J. Proctor, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va; many nieces and nephews; and a friend, Karl Schultz.

He was predeceased by a brother, Okey L. Lewis Jr.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time the funeral service, 7 p.m. Saturday at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with the Rev. Charles Curry officiating. Interment will be private.
