James Ransey "Jim" Long, Jr., 61, of Manchester, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Carroll Hospital Center. Jim was born on September 30, 1956 in Westminster and was the son of the late James Ransey, Sr. and Rosie Marie (Lowe) Long. He was the loving fiancée for 13 years of Tina Phillips. Jim began his working career at the age of 20 for Yingling Tire, and worked there for 30 years. He was the current branch manager of Service Tire Truck Center for the past 11 years. Jim enjoyed being outdoors and going biking, camping and kayaking. He loved riding around campsites and music festivals in his golf cart. He liked cooking, drawing, and photography. He was a member of the Hanover Eagles F.O.E. Aerie #1406. Surviving in addition to his fiancée is son and daughter-in-law Brian and Tracey Long of Westminster; daughter Chelsea Simons of Littlestown, PA; step-son Michael Phillips of Baltimore; sister Debbie Long Horton of Westminster; grandchildren Jevin and Jace Long and Grayson Dranbauer; and nephew Devin Horton. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the start of funeral services at noon at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Interment will be in St. John 's Leister's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to defray funeral costs to Pritts Funeral Home, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, MD 21157.
