James Earle "Jim" Straley, 74, of Manchester, died Sunday, May 22, 2016 at his residence. He was born May 13, 1942, in Frederick County, Maryland to Claude Bentley and Helen Virginia (Sherman) Straley. He is survived by his wife Donna of 42 years and daughters Tina (Lance) Gentle, Kimberly (Chuck) Freeland and Suzanne (Marc) Goldstein and grandchildren William, Chloe, Katie, Oliver and a grand dog "Puck". Jim retired from Congoleum Corporation in 2004 after 32 years of service. He also enjoyed playing golf (19th hole was his favorite), watching Ravens, Orioles, Washington Capitals and University of Maryland sports teams as well as watching and feeding the birds and squirrels in his backyard. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Elder Tom Helton officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and staff of the University of Maryland Medical Center for their care of Jim.
