James Thomas Martin, 80, of Finksburg, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Carroll Hospice's Dove House. Born September 11, 1933 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late James and Elsie Dyke Martin. He was the fiance' and soulmate of Dolores Triplett for 13 years. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Fallston Utilities and then for HTI until he retired. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. He enjoyed playing the Lottery, boxing, watching and feeding wildlife and enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his fiance' are children Patsy Bollinger and husband Herb of Taneytown and Tommy Martin, Jr of Union Bridge; siblings Edith Fick and William Martin of Westminster and Arthur Martin of Martinsburg, WV; and numerous grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings Margarette Cole, Marie Snyder, Katherine Morris, Rosie Golden, John, Leo, Jerry and Bobby Martin. Services and interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave, Westminster, MD 21157. Cremation arrangements by Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster.
