James Warren Jones, age 79 of Woodbine, died Saturday, September 12, 2015 at his home. Born July 6, 1936 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Lawrence Leroy and Mildred Charlotte (James) Jones. He was the husband of 60 years of Mildred Dolores Jones ( nee Vain). In his early years, he taught and participated in gymnastics competitions with the American Sokol Organization. He was a dedicated employee of Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory and retired after 39 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, coaching youth soccer, and being a devoted father and husband. He was saved at age 40 and remained an active and faithful member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church until his death, where he served as a treasurer and trustee. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter and son-in-law Donna Teresa and Hans Peter Cleveland of Munich, Germany, son and daughter-in-law James Wallace and Anamara Jones of Elkridge, son-in-law David Bibo of Arbutus, sister Glenda Giles of Yuma, AZ, grandchildren Aaron Jones and wife Erin Jones of Arbutus, Christopher Cleveland of Phoenix, AZ, Alex Cleveland of Phoenix, AZ, Haley Cleveland of Santa Monica, CA and Hanna Jones of Jeonju, South Korea, great grandchildren James, Levi, and Noah Jones. He was predeceased by daughter Cheryl Ann Bibo and siblings Lawrence Jones, Robert Jones, Eileen Draddy, and Donald Jones. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10am at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, 2145 McKendree Road, West Friendship. Interment Sharon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
