Jane L. Haynes, 66, of Hampstead, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.

Born Aug. 16, 1945, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Bertram S. Lafferty Sr. and Ellen Dorsey Lafferty Martin. She was the stepdaughter of the late Paul Martin. She was the wife of John C. Haynes, her husband of 46 years.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Hampstead, the Women In Mission, the Prayer Shaw group, and was a former Girl Scout leader for many years. She had been pediatric nurse and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters and sons-in-law Elaine R. and John Geisler, of Manchester, Amy C. Haynes-Martin and Stephen Martin, of Hartselle, Ala., and Jenny R. and Richard Johnson, of Hampstead; a brother, Bertram Lafferty Jr., of Middle River; granddaughters Amanda Martin, Madison Geisler, Lillian Johnson and Rebecca Bowers; and grandsons Austin Haynes and Bror Johnson.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Alexander S. Geisler; and by her grandparents who helped raise her, Sylvia Irene Toms Dorsey and Harry Dorsey.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead; and from 11 a.m. until the time of service, noon Thursday at St. John's United Methodist Church, 1205 N. Main St., Hampstead, with the Rev. John Rudolph officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
