Janet Louise Harrison, 70, of Westminster, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at home, after a long struggle with congestive heart failure and cardiopulmonary complications.

Born Nov. 20, 1942, in Baltimore, she was the youngest daughter of the late George Otto and Blanche Lillian Trulieb Redtman. She was the former wife of Richard Harrison.

Growing up near Patterson Park in Baltimore, she was the youngest of four children. She graduated from Patterson High School in 1961. She lived in Baltimore City, Harford County and spent her final days in Westminster.

For many years she worked in health care, serving the Johns Hopkins Bayview community for 15 years after a long career at Blue Cross and CareFirst. She retired in 2011. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Westminster.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially gathering the family at her home for holiday meals. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, making many elaborate birthday, christening and wedding cakes for those occasions. She was known to be a generous person who shared everything she had with her family and friends, delighting in giving gifts and sharing trips with her daughters and grandchildren.

Surviving are daughters Susan Harrison Darnley, Kelly Price, Jennifer M. Harrison and Sandra Harrison; sons-in-law Donald Darnley, Gary Price, Christopher Premo and Marvin Ellis El; grandchildren Nicholas Harrison Price, Nathan Anthony Darnley, Emily Elizabeth Price, Patrick Harrison Darnley, Meghan Ann Darnley, Samuel Penton Price, Jacob Harrison Premo, Erika Lynn Harrison-Ellis El, Haley Jordan Harrison-Ellis El and Jason Harrison Premo; a sister, Margaret Redtman Colangelo; a brother, George Redtman; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Alma Hebbel.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Martha Clementson officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Cemetery.
