Janet Marie Van Cleve, 67, of Sykesville, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Columbia.

Born June 1, 1946, in Coatesville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia Hoppers Rosciolo. She was the wife of John W. "Jack" Van Cleve, her husband of 48 years, whom she married Nov. 25, 1965.

She worked as a career specialist at AIPT of Columbia for 25 years, an international student exchange program. Her final duties included staffing the Grand America Hotel for the Salt Lake City Olympics.

She attended S. Horace Scott High School. She moved to Eldersburg in 1975, where she became active at St. Joseph Catholic Community. She served as a Eucharistic minister, visited the sick and visited the bereaved at funeral homes. She was a member of the Sheens Colleens and started a cancer support ministry at St. Joseph's. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters. She served as a board member for Courage Lyons and was an active member of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Kimberly Van Cleve, of Manchester; daughter and son-in-law Kristine and Michael Guerin, of Mount Airy; grandchildren Cheyenne and Dakota Van Cleve, of Manchester, and Emma, Michael and Abby Guerin, all of Mount Airy; a sister, Linda Wemett, of Wagontown, Pa.; and brothers Paul and John Rosciolo, both of Coatesville, Pa.

She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Rosciolo.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery in Sykesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Gilchrist Hospice Care, 5537 Twin Knolls Road, Suite 433, Columbia, MD 21045-9906.
