Jayna Lynette Shank, 33, of Westminster, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House after complications from diabetes.

Born Jan. 8, 1980, in Westminster, she was the daughter of Lacye Jane Koons Shank and James O. Shank, both of Westminster.

She was a 1998 graduate of Westminster High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Salisbury State University. She was a math teacher at Franklin Middle School in Reisterstown and then was employed in the accounting department at the Eldersburg Walmart. She enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts and mentoring those with diabetes.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are brothers and sisters-in-law Wade Tyler and Melissa Shank, of Manchester, and Nathan Bradley and Dori Shank, of Allentown, Pa.; and nieces Taylor, Caitlin, Addison and Avery Shank.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the start of the memorial service, 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Dave Bare officiating. Interment will be private.
