Jean Anneta Staben, age 83, of Sykesville passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Westminster. Born January 16, 1933, in Ellicott City, MD she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Gertrude Cavey. She was the devoted wife of William K. Staben and the late Charles Linthicum. Jean was a long time resident of Howard County. She had lived on the Eastern Shore for 23 years. She had worked at Spring Grove Hospital, Catonsville until her retirement. She then worked as a teaching assistant for preschoolers at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Easton. She enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and driving cancer patients for treatments. She loved dogs and especially spending time with her family. Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter, Wanda Linthicum Barth; brother, Carroll Cavey; grandchildren, Julie Barth, Jason Barth, Katie Simmons Barth, Ali Linthicum Hynes, Eli Sachs Linthicum, Gary M. Linthicum, Jr., Melissa Linthicum Harrison and Andrew Linthicum; great-grandson, Griffin Charles Hynes and daughter-in-law, Jeanette Linthicum. She was predeceased by sons, Charles and Gary Linthicum; brothers, Lee and Jack Cavey and son-in-law, Gene Barth. A celebration of life service will be held in the spring.
