Jean Francis Miller, 93, of Hanover, Pa., died Friday February 13, 2015 at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover. Born May 30, 1921 in Quincy, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Dora May Blodgett Laughlin. She was the wife of the late Frederick C. Miller, who died in 1999. She was a graduate of Maryland General Hospital, where she earned her nursing degree. She worked as a registered nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital following graduation. She moved to Hampstead in 1965 and worked at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester for fifteen years. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Manchester. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hampstead. She was also a member of Lebanon Chapter # 108 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Women's Club of Hampstead and for many years volunteered with NESAP. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Larry Carl and Susan Miller of New Market; daughter, Carol Jean Miller of Manchester; and grandson, Kurt Miller of Baltimore. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, where an Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1373 North Main Street, Hampstead with her pastor, the Rev. George E. Tuttle officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
